A Calling to die for...

Martin Luther King Jnr said: "A man who won't die for something, is not fit to live"
This is a strong statement.
Yet, King exemplified it with his own life. When he died in 1968, being assassinated, this Baptist preacher changed his world. He found something to die for.

One of his most profound legacies is therefore the speech known through out the world, often quoted in liberation struggles, as "I have a dream"

A ministry or a church should also live for a dream. One can say, "A congregation who won't die for something, is not fit to live"

For us it means
a Riverlea community
free of drugs,
free of guns,
free of violence...

Where our seniors may sit on their stoep telling heroic tales;
Where our children walk in the streets without fear;
Where our young girls play in the park, late at night...
We have a dream for our community.

 This is certainly the calling for faith communities today. It is certainly the calling of our community.

Indeed, we Team Riverlea, have a dream... to die for...
